When you click the buttons below, you'll open a pdf document in a new tab. You can either press the printer icon to send to your printer or the downward-facing arrow to download the pdf to your device.
These pages are formatted to print on standard 8.5x11" printer paper. An at-home printer works just fine - this is the home inkjet printer I use! You might want to print the pages on cardstock to make them extra durable.

๐ How to Use the Grocery List Templates
There are a few ways to approach a shopping trip with these lists.
For the filled list - I prefer to highlight each item that I need in the grocery store. It might be helpful to write the quantity you need or any notes in the margins of this list (you should have enough room!). Then, when you're in the store, use the checkboxes to mark off items as you grab them.
You can also use this list as kind of an inventory list in the kitchen. Go through each item and inventory the amount you have, noting when you'll need to buy more.
For the blank list - this one is great to use when you don't need a whole lot and want a list that's a little less complicated. If you only need to get 10-20 items at the supermarket, this is a great option!
I recommend hanging your grocery list in a prominent place, like a bulletin board or on the fridge. As you see that you need items, jot them down throughout the week. That way, there's no need to sit down and make a list when it's time to buy groceries.
๐ Filled Grocery List Template
This grocery list already has some of the most popular items in each category filled in. On this template, you'll find sections for...
- Fruits
- Vegetables
- Dairy
- Meats
- Breads
- Baking
- Packaged
- Snacks
- Drinks
- Condiments
- Dried
- Spices
๐ฐ Blank Grocery List PDF
Want a blank version of the shopping list you see above? No problem!
This checklist gives you the same categories as the filled version of the shopping list, just with blanks instead of items. This is a great way to organize a shopping trip when you only need a few essentials.
By categorizing your grocery trip into sections, you'll save time and money in the grocery store. Grab everything in each aisle of the store at once and knock out those impulse purchases by following an organized list!
๐ป A Digital Shopping List Template
If you're more of a digital person, I've got you covered in that department too.
I have a full Google Sheets Meal Planning Template that lets you navigate the kitchen and the grocery aisles with ease. This coordinated set of spreadsheets has a meal plan, recipe cards, ingredient inventory, list of favorite meals, and the grocery shopping list you see above.
This spreadsheet is also a free download! You can check out my post linked above for more info.
๐ก Top Tips for Using a Grocery List
- Number the categories you see above by store layout to make your shopping trip as efficient as possible. For example, if fruits and veggies are at the front of your store, those would be 1 and 2; if breads are in the aisle behind those, it would be 3; and so on. This way, you won't be running all over the store for your items.
- Highlight your list by meal. If you meal plan, it's a great idea to categorize your list into recipes by highlighting your items in different colors. Let's say you're making lasagna one night and tacos the next; all of the ingredients used for lasagna could be highlighted in pink and the taco ingredients in yellow. This helps you know what items you'll need when, and what purchases can wait.
- Get the family involved! Have family members or other people in your home jot down items as they see a need.
- Put a star by items that are a priority to purchase.
I can't wait to see these shopping lists in action! If you print a copy, I'd love to hear what you think. You can leave your thoughts below!
