I'm back today with another perfect strawberry recipe for summer! If you love recipes like my Strawberry Banana Poke Cake or these easy Strawberry Cake Mix Brownies, you're going to love this easy summer dip recipe, too.

Why You'll Love This Recipe

  • Fun twist on a classic dessert. Instead of having the traditional Strawberry Pretzel Salad as a pie, we're going to make it kind of "deconstructed" today. It's a really fun take on a recipe people already know & love.
  • Great for party snacking. Instead of having to dole out individual servings of a pie, this is so simple to snack on at a party. No plates or forks needed!
  • Only 6 ingredients and a 15 minute prep time make this so simple to whip up for last-minute guests.

Ingredients & Substitutions

ingredients for strawberry pretzel salad dip.
  • 8 oz cream cheese - I recommend softening this to room temperature before blending; it makes it much easier to mix into a smooth dip.
  • 8 oz Cool Whip - This should be thawed completely before mixing.
  • ½ cup powdered sugar - Important that you use powdered sugar instead of granulated white sugar; the powdered sugar will give your dip a smooth, non-grainy finish.
  • 3 oz strawberry jello mix - This is going to be the standard-size pack, not the bigger family pack. You'll use the dry mix in your recipe (not dissolved in water).
  • 21 oz strawberry pie filling - If you'd like your dip to be a little less sweet, you can top it with chopped fresh strawberries tossed in a little bit of sugar instead!
  • pretzel chips - These will be used for serving. Regular pretzels or pretzel sticks also work well.

How to Make Strawberry Pretzel Salad Dip

  1. Make the Cream Cheese Layer. In a large mixing bowl, add the softened cream cheese, thawed Cool Whip, powdered sugar, and dry strawberry Jell-O mix. Using an electric hand mixer on medium speed, beat the ingredients together until the mixture is completely smooth, light, and fluffy. Scrape down the sides of the bowl with a spatula as needed to ensure everything is fully incorporated.
  2. Assemble the Base. Once the cream cheese mixture is smooth, use a spatula to evenly spread it into the bottom of a standard 9-inch pie dish or similar serving dish. Smooth the top to create an even surface for the topping.
  3. Add the Strawberry Topping. Open the can of strawberry pie filling and gently spoon it over the cream cheese layer. Use the back of the spoon to spread it out evenly, covering the entire surface. Be careful not to press too hard—this layer should rest gently on top without mixing into the cream cheese.
  4. Chill the Dip. Cover the dish with plastic wrap or a lid and place it in the refrigerator for at least 1 to 2 hours. This chilling time helps the layers set and allows the flavors to meld. For best results, chill until the dip is firm and cold to the touch.
  5. Serve. Just before serving, remove the dip from the refrigerator. Serve it cold with pretzel chips, which add a perfect salty crunch to balance the sweet, creamy dip.

Helpful Tips & Tricks

  • Leftovers of this recipe should be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator. I recommend enjoying this one within 3-4 days of originally preparing it.
  • This is great to make ahead of time for an event. You can prep it up to 24 hours in advance. Just make sure to cover it tightly in the fridge after prepping it.
  • Soften the cream cheese fully. Let it sit at room temperature for 30–60 minutes before mixing. This prevents lumps and ensures a smooth, creamy texture.
  • Don’t overmix. Once the cream cheese mixture is smooth and fluffy, stop beating. Overmixing can make it too runny.

It's a pampered chef container that was sold years ago, I don't know if they even still make it!
