Any Disney fans out there? If you've ever been to a Disney park or on a Disney Cruise, you've probably tried their famous Dole Whip. It's a soft-serve ice cream that has the perfect hint of creamy pineapple.
Now, you can make it at home! No special ingredients needed - just a handy dandy Ninja Creami machine. This homemade Dole Whip recipe is as similar as I can get it to the real deal.
Why You'll Love This Recipe
- This recipe uses just 4 simple ingredients (that you might already have on hand) to make a really rich, fruity soft-serve ice cream.
- It's prepped in a snap - just mix and freeze!
- This is a cost-effective way to enjoy a Disney favorite at home. No special powders of mixes needed! As of publish date, this entire recipe is under $4 (and makes about 6 servings).
Ingredients
- 2 cups frozen pineapple chunks - No canned pineapple chunks here - only frozen (or fresh if you have it) will do. The canned just doesn't have enough of a pineapple punch.
- 2 cups pineapple juice - This will also add that nice tang you need for a Dole Whip.
- ⅓ cup sweetened condensed milk - This is the canned variety; we like to batch prep our Ninja Creami ice creams, so you can use the rest of the can for another recipe (like this easy Ninja Creami Vanilla Ice Cream).
- ¼ cup whole milk - You won't use this until you're ready to spin the ice cream. It magically takes the ice cream base from frozen to creamy!
How to Make Ninja Creami Dole Whip
- MAKE ICE CREAM BASE. Mix 2 cups frozen pineapple chunks, 2 cups pineapple juice, and ⅓ cup sweetened condensed milk in a Ninja Creami pint container. Pop in the freezer for at least 24 hours.
- SPIN. When ready to serve, remove the lid and blend the ice cream using the "sorbet" function. Take it out, add ¼ cup milk, and run the "re-spin" function.
- Serve immediately.
How-To Video
Leftovers & Storage
If you have leftovers, cover the pint container with the lid and freeze. To serve again, spin once on the sorbet function, add ¼ cup milk, and spin again using the respin function.
I'd avoid refreezing more than once - it can lose its creamy texture and the flavors may become diluted.
Helpful Tips & Tricks
- When freezing, make sure there are no pineapple chunks sticking out of the top of the ice cream base mixture. The top of the ice cream base needs to freeze flat to prevent damage to your machine.
- If you'd like to swap out fruits, that's totally possible! Just use a canned fruit that's packed in juice, or frozen/fresh fruit with it's corresponding juice (kind of like I do with my mango sorbet). Peaches are also great in this recipe.
- Like I mentioned, we batch prep out Ninja Creami pints (around 5-10 at a time). These extra pint containers are great for that! Just make sure to label your containers - I use a piece of tape labeled with a Sharpie.

Equipment
Ingredients
- 2 cups frozen pineapple chunks
- 1.5 cups pineapple juice
- ⅓ cup sweetened condensed milk
- ¼ cup whole milk
Instructions
- Combine pineapple chunks, pineapple juice, and sweetened condensed milk in a Ninja Creami pint container. Freeze for at least 24 hours.
- When you're ready to serve, remove the lid and spin the frozen ice cream base using the "sorbet" function. Remove from machine, add ¼ cup milk, and spin again using the "re-spin" function.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- LEFTOVERS: Cover leftovers with the lid and freeze. To serve again: spin on "sorbet," add ¼ cup milk, and "re-spin." Avoid refreezing more than once - it loses creaminess and flavor.
- Ensure no pineapple chunks stick out - keep the top flat to avoid machine damage.
- If you'd like, you can swap the fruits. Peaches and mangoes work great!
