💚 Why You'll Love This Recipe

  • As easy to make as it gets. This creamy fried pickle dip is as simple as adding a couple of things to a food processor and mixing. It's ready in about 5 minutes!
  • Unique element to a party spread. This isn't one you see on the dip table every day! Everybody loves a dill pickle - why not make it into a dip?
  • Perfect for pickle lovers. If you can't get enough of that tangy dill flavor, this dip delivers in every bite!

🥒 Just 6 Ingredients!

ingredients for fried pickle dip.
  • 2 cups seasoned croutons - Some people like to use seasoned breadcrumbs for their topping, but I prefer to crush seasoned croutons because a) they're already toasted, and b) the seasoning plays really well with this dip.
  • 8 oz cream cheese - Make sure this is softened to room temperature before adding to your dip.
  • 1 cup sour cream - If you want to lighten up this recipe a little, it's totally fine to use a light sour cream!
  • 12oz dill pickle relish - These pickles are already chopped to exactly the consistency you need them. Just make sure not to get sweet relish!
  • 1 packet ranch dressing mix - If you use a big shaker of ranch seasoning (like I do), use about 3 tablespoons of mix.
  • 2 tablespoon fresh dill - You'll notice in the picture that I used freeze-dried dill - that's all that was available at my store, but I do still recommend fresh if you can get your hands on it (same amount whether dried or fresh). Dill adds a great pop of freshness and flavor to the final dip! This will need to be finely chopped.

Additions & Substitutions

  • Add a little bit of heat to the dip by adding 2 tablespoons of hot sauce or red pepper flakes. 🔥
  • Add a protein punch by using plain Greek yogurt instead of sour cream.
  • If you want a thinner, tangier dip, use mayonnaise instead of cream cheese.

  1. MAKE CRUNCHY TOPPING. Add 2 cups of croutons to a food processor and pulse until they're a fine, breadcrumb-like consistency. Scoop out the breadcrumbs and set them aside.
  2. MAKE DIP BASE. Next, toss 8oz of cream cheese, 1 cup of sour cream, 1 packet of ranch dressing mix, the jar of relish, and the dill in a large bowl. Blend with an electric hand mixer until smooth. Spoon the dip into your favorite serving dish.
  3. CHILL the dip for at least an hour.
  4. TOP AND SERVE. Right before you're ready to serve, sprinkle those crouton breadcrumbs over the top.

🥡 Leftovers & Storage

STORAGE: This dip will need to be covered in an airtight container and stored in the refrigerator. I recommend serving your dip within 3-4 days of making it.

FREEZING: I don't recommend freezing this; the textures just come out kind of funky when you thaw it. It's super simple to whip up fresh!

🥨 What to Serve With Dill Pickle Dip

This dip works with lots of different dippers! I prefer just plain old potato chips, but you could also serve it with...

  • Cucumber slices
  • Crackers
  • Baby carrots
  • Pita Chips
  • Pretzel chips
  • Toast points

✅ More Useful Tips & Tricks

  • If you're not serving the dip immediately, I'd wait until just before you serve it to top with the crouton breadcrumbs. If you don't, they can get a little soggy.
  • If your dip is too thick and you have an extra jar of pickles on hand, add a little bit of pickle juice (think 2 tablespoons at a time) to get it to the consistency you like.

I can't wait to see this recipe on your next party spread! 🥒 When you give it a try, I'd love for you to rate ⭐️ and review 🗣 in the comments below.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups seasoned croutons
  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 10 oz dill pickle relish (divided)
  • 1 packet ranch dressing mix
  • 2 tablespoon fresh dill (finely chopped)

Instructions

  • Place 2 cups of croutons in a food processor. Pulse until they become a breadcrumb consistency. Remove breadcrumbs from the food processor and set aside.
  • Use a hand mixer to blend 8oz cream cheese, 1 cup of sour cream, 1 pack of ranch dressing mix, the dill pickle relish, and the chopped dill. Pour this mixture into a serving dish and chill for at least an hour.
  • When you're ready to serve, top the dip with the crouton breadcrumbs.

Notes

  • If you're not serving the dip right away, hold off on adding the crouton breadcrumbs until just before serving—otherwise, they might get a bit soggy.
  • If the dip feels too thick, grab an extra jar of pickles and stir in a bit of pickle juice (about 2 tablespoons at a time) until it reaches your desired consistency.

Made this for NYE and it was a hit! Several people asked me to share the recipe. The dip is so good, I plan to use it on a wrap with lettuce, tomato and turkey.
