How to Make Crock Pot Peach Cobbler
Ingredients
You'll need just 3 simple ingredients...
- 3 15-ish oz cans of peaches in heavy syrup (important; not packed in juice!)
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1 stick of butter
Directions
Spray a Crock Pot with cooking spray (or use a slow cooker liner). Add 3 cans of peaches (not drained) to the Crock Pot.
Sprinkle cake mix on top of peaches. Do not mix!
Cut butter into ¼" slices. Layer on top of cake mix.
Place lid on Crock Pot. Cook on high for 2-3 hours, until the top of the cake turns golden brown. Check the cobbler after about an hour of cooking; if there is still dry cake mix, gently mix it into some of the syrup from the peaches (mixing as little as possible).
That's it - really! It's a fairly quick Crock Pot recipe that is as simple as layering a few ingredients. It has a homemade taste with such comforting richness - perfect with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream on top!

Variations
- This recipe can be made with any canned fruit. Apples, pears, pineapple, or cherries would be delicious. Just make sure they're packed in heavy syrup!
- Add even more flavor to the cobbler by topping with cinnamon, cloves, or nutmeg. You can also mix 2 teaspoon of vanilla extract or almond extract into the peaches to give the flavor more depth.
- Add another layer of texture by sprinkling ½ cup crushed pecans or walnuts on top of the butter before cooking.
- Use a different flavor of cake mix with your cobbler recipe. This peach cobbler would pair well with a strawberry or spice cake mix.
Recipe Tips & Tricks
- Your Crock Pot should be at least a 6-quart to prepare this recipe.
- Immediately after cooking, the juices/syrup at the bottom of the cobbler might be runny. This typically thickens quickly. If needed, let the cobbler sit for about an hour to cool; this will thicken the cobbler.
- If you can't find fruit packed in heavy syrup, mix 1 cup brown sugar into the undrained canned fruit in step 1 of the recipe.
- Fresh peaches or frozen peaches can be used instead of canned peaches. Add in 1 cup of brown sugar with 5 cups of fresh/frozen fruit in step 1 of the recipe.
Leftover Storage
This recipe should be stored in the refrigerator after cooling. Leftovers will keep in an airtight container for 3-4 days after cooking. When you're ready to reheat, microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well in between.
