See how to make Oreo Mug Cake - an easy dessert that's ready with just 60 seconds in a microwave! With just 5 simple ingredients, get that famous rich chocolate flavor in a warm, gooey cake.
Add one Oreo cookie. Crush into milk/butter with a fork, until combined and stirrable.
Add flour and sugar and stir lightly until mixed.
Gently press remaining Oreo cookie into center of the batter, until just covered.
Microwave for 60 seconds.
Top with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
Notes
Small adjustments in cook time can change the texture of your mug cake. With my 1100 watt microwave, 60 seconds is just about perfect. Take 10 seconds off to have a gooey, lava-style cake. Add 10 seconds for a more solid, "cakey" cake.
Make the Oreos even easier to mix by pulsing the cookie in the food processor or blender before mixing into the butter & milk.
If you have a turntable-style microwave, place the mug on the outside of the turntable to cook it. Strangely, this keeps the heat in the mug more even, resulting in a perfectly cooked mug cake.
For easy clean-up, give your mug a light coat of cooking spray before making the cake.
Use one of the many flavored Oreos instead of traditional chocolate cookies.
Want your mug cake to have an extra gooey texture? Omit the flour (trust me, it works!).
If you want to reduce the sugar content a little, substitute stevia for the granulated sugar.
