Our Empty Home Tour

I'm so excited to share 13 months of building and years of planning with you guys today…it's finally time for our empty home tour!

Our Empty Home Tour - great collection of photos from an empty house! Includes kitchen organization and built-in cabinets.

Now, a disclaimer: as I type this, our home looks absolutely nothing like these pictures. I took these about an hour after we signed the paperwork to officially buy this beauty last Tuesday afternoon. We started moving in Wednesday morning and, slowly but surely, we're unpacking boxes and turning this house into a home. It's nowhere near done, but we're making a lot of progress!

Just one short week ago, this is what our home looked like. I couldn't be happier with the result of a lot of hard work by a lot of people!

Coming directly in the front door, this is the view up the stairs. You can see the playroom at the top of the stairs and the downstairs hall in the bottom left corner.

We'll start with (what we're showing) of the upstairs first. I've already mentioned that we won't be showing the kids' rooms on the blog, but I can't wait to show what we'll be doing with this playroom. There are three total bedrooms and two bathrooms upstairs as well.

Another view of the playroom, looking back from the bedrooms. I've always wanted to have a playroom at the top of the stairs!

Headed back down the stairs, looking to the left, you'll walk into the dining room.

On the front of the house (in front of the dining room), you walk into our office area.

Walking back through the foyer…

…there is a hallway that connects most of the downstairs portion of the house.

At one end is our bedroom and master bathroom.

Looking from the deck door to our master bath.

To the left is our tubย (with faucet, c/o found here) and sinks…

…and to the right is our walk-in shower.

Our closet is at the very end of that (it's crazy how much we've already filled this up!).

Back out in the hall is a half bath (sink c/o – foundย here).

The butler's pantry is just past that…this is where we have our glassware and coffee maker.

Further down is our mudroom,

and past that is our laundry room.

I am so excited about all of the storage in here!

And, finally, the area that is definitely most used in our home…the living/kitchen area. We have a very open floor plan that combined the living and kitchen area and it's working so well for our family!

I tried to be really intentional about the storage in our kitchen…I knew I was stuck with it for awhile so it better be right. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I had a few “must-haves” in the kitchen that my builder made happen perfectly.

Spice Cabinet

Appliance Storage Drawers

Pull-Out Trash

Pull-Out Utensil Storage (I hadn't put the two other containers in yet, but there are two for those back slots as well).

And probably my favorite…

Our builder asked us about making the pantry part of the cabinets in one of our first meetings and we loved the idea!

Between the kitchen and living room is a French door that leads onto the screened porch (an area we're loving!).

And that screened porch leads onto our deck (which connects to our bedroom).

From the other side of the deck, you can see our (very un-landscaped) backyard. It definitely needs work – we'll probably work on that more in the spring.

So there you have it…a space that we're hoping is a home filled with love and laughter for many years to come. This already feels so much like home – we are so incredibly happy with it. I can't wait to show you guys some of the fun things I have planned for this space!

  1. Will you share what color (and brand of paint) you went with on the walls in the downstairs hallway? I am looking to repaint my living areas and this is exactly what I am looking for. Thanks!

    1. Absolutely! All of the common areas of the home (including the hallway) are Amazing Gray by Sherwin Williams (I believe it’s a satin finish). It’s one of those colors that looks a little different depending on what light the room has and we love it! Sometimes it’s a little gray and sometimes a little warmer.

  2. Congratulations! Your home is beautiful! I’ve been a reader for years but I don’t think I have ever commented!! I truly am so happy for you because I know from reading how hard y’all have planned and worked. You deserve this!

    1. Thank you so much, Candy! ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Gorgeous! What is your flooring? I love it!

    1. Thanks! It’s Majestic Oak LVP by Artisan Mills.

  4. Your new home is breathtaking. I love the outside, especially the porch area. But it looks warm and inviting. The inside is gorgeous — and you have a Butlers Pantry!!! So excited to watch it come together for you and your family! Congratulations!

  5. Jessie Jones says:

This. Is. Gorgeous. And the appliance storage drawers are the best idea ever.

    1. Aww thanks! ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Wow Leslie, your forever home is gorgeous! I wish I could have had a dream home built for me when my kids were little but it is rarely possible here in sunny South Florida where land is virtually never found to build on ๐Ÿ™

    1. Thanks so much…we are so happy with how it turned out!

  7. This looks great Leslie!! Did you end up using the colors you originally picked for the main kitchen cabinets? I am think of using Agreeable Gray to repaint the cabinets in my home. I love how everything turned out!

    1. Hi Rojauna! Honestly not sure what I put in the other posts, but we ended up going with Popular Gray for the cabinets. It looks great…we’re loving it so far!
