This post is sponsored by Minted. The love of their fabulous cards is all my own.
It's the week of giveaways, I guess! :) Wednesday had a great cash giveaway (just in time for Black Friday!) and today I'm hosting a chance to win $250 to Minted. Read on for more info!
Christmas cards are one of my favorite things. It is just so much fun for me to go back and not only look at how we've changed over the years, but how others we love change too. I've saved every Christmas card we've received since 2010(ish), and this year, I finally organized them!
Emmie received a prayer ring at one of her baby showers, and I've always loved it so much...I thought it would be the perfect way to display Christmas cards too. This way, they are easily organized and easy to flip through year-round.
Each year's set of cards starts with our personal Christmas card (that way, it's simple to know when you're flipping to a new year). I also separated each year with a little ribbon or trinket. Not only does it make is simple to flip through the years of cards, but it makes the ring even prettier!
This hangs on a door knob in our living room. It makes me so happy each and every time I see it. More and more, I'm becoming a believer in filling your home with things that truly represent you and make you happy...this is a perfect example.
Now, as for how I get those cards...long-time readers here know how big of a Minted fan I am. The concept of the company is so cool, yet so simple - it's a collection of independent artists and designers that submit designs for the site and are voted into the pool based on the popularity of their design. It's a wonderful way for up-and-coming designers to get their work out there (and a great way to discover new artists)!
I have absolutely fallen in love with the quality of their Christmas cards. From my experience, you can't find this kind of attention to detail anywhere else. Minted has made our Christmas cards for the past few years (2013, 2014, 2015) and did Jackson's birth announcement earlier this year. Today, I'm teaming up with them to start planning this year's card!
I know I just want to use a picture of Emmie and Jackson this year - I love family pictures, but it just seems right to feature my two babies for their first Christmas together. I know I just want to use one picture, so in Minted's holiday card page, I was able to search for cards that have one image slot. I was also able to narrow the selection down to cards that are flat and include foil-pressed designs (which are gorgeous - my 2014 card had this pressed look).
So, after browsing hundreds of ideas, these few stuck out...
Picture Frame Merry Foil-Pressed Holiday Cards (Love the foil print on this...it adds such a pop!)
Charming Gingham Christmas Photo Cards (I'm kind of obsessed with gingham right now...this one is definitely in the lead!)
And believe me, there are hundreds (literally, hundreds) of other Christmas and Holiday cards from Minted where that came from! They have every font, style, life event, color combo, and feel you could imagine for your Christmas cards.
I'm seriously leaning towards that gingham card - so much that I think I might try to find outfits that coordinate with the colors in it. It's calling my name! But it does seem like I always change my mind after I'm able to put the pictures into the actual cards (Minted has an awesome feature on their search page that allows you to put your picture in each card for a preview). So we'll see!
A huge thanks to Minted for sharing your awesome ideas with us today! Now, I'm so excited that one of you is going to win a $250 Minted credit for your own Christmas cards...woo hoo!!!
