Emmie - 4 Years

Emmie,

You turned FOUR over the weekend!  I can hardly believe it.  The saying "the days are long but the years are short" has never seemed more true.  I guess I don't always see how much you've grown because we're together each and every day, but when I look back at your old Month by Month posts, it's really just crazy how much you've changed even in the past year.

You are so your own little person now!  In the past year, you've become so much more independent.    You definitely have your likes and dislikes (which you voice loudly as needed).  You've grown into the best big sister I can possibly imagine for Jackson and you have the sweetest spirit of anyone I know.   You really do care so much about everyone around you!

Here's what's going on in your world at four years old!

Weight:

You are at 45.4 pounds.  That's in the 98th percentile for weight!

Height:

As of yesterday morning you were 42.25" tall.  That's at the 86th percentile!

Clothing Size:

I think it's officially time to retire the 4t clothes.  I've been putting off cleaning out your winter clothes until the last little cold snap passes, but once winter is officially over you'll be fully in 5t clothing.  You're still in size 11 shoes, but I think we'll switch those over to size 12 shortly.

Feeding:

Just like any other four year old, you're very hit or miss in the food department.  Sometimes you're a fabulous eater and sometimes you take one bite of dinner.  You really are a healthy eater though...you love most fruits and veggies.  You're also a big fan of rice, macaroni and cheese, quesadillas, pepperoni pizza, peanut butter sandwiches (your lunch almost every day, by request), and any cheese.

Hair/Eyes:

You have the prettiest gray/blue eyes!  And, surprisingly, you still have blonde hair right now.  (Fun fact: Noah had blonde hair up until he was about her age, so we expected hers to turn by now.)

Sleep:

Still my champion sleeper!  You take a 2-3 hour nap each afternoon (usually not willingly, but once you're asleep you stay asleep for that long).  Your bedtime is around 8 each night and you usually sleep until 7-8 each morning.
