Twenty (Often Forgotten) Places to Disinfect in Your Home

Having a baby in the middle of cold and flu season can be a little unsettling.  We're already doing a little extra this year to prevent the spread of germs around our house.  As much as I love almost every aspect of Emmie going to preschool, the sickness she inevitably carries home is definitely not one of those.  Plus, we live in our is not always pristine, just like most family homes out there.  There's no way around bringing in and spreading common cold and flu viruses just by living our everyday lives.

Luckily, with a little bit of insight (and a few cleaning supplies), you can do your part to ward off those seasonal cold and flu germs!  I've listed 20 of the most germ-ridden places in your house below...a few of these you might not think to clean, but it's so important that they are regularly disinfected to keep your family safe!

  4. Remote Control

  6. Refrigerator
  7. Oven Knobs
  8. Light Switches

  10. Washing Machine
  11. Car Keys

Luckily for me, there are super easy methods for disinfecting most everything on this list!  At nine months pregnant, you want to start the process of making your home as safe as possible for you new arrival, but you often don't have a lot of time or energy to devote to cleaning the whole house.  Clorox Clean-Up Spray gives you the best of both worlds....I love using it to regularly disinfect some of the yuckiest places in our home.  A simple spray and wipe-down kills 99.9% of viruses and bacteria that can live on surfaces for up to 48 hours, like Staph, E. Coli, Salmonella, and Strep.

Clorox Clean-Up Spray is designed to clean a variety of surfaces, including washing machines, countertops, sinks, and toilets.  It's a versatile product that makes it easy to get rid of those germs that we can't keep out of the house!
A similar product in the Clorox line that I love to keep around are Clorox Disinfecting Wipes.  These multi-tasking wipes really knock out so many little messes in our home, including messy  kitchen counter top spills.  They also allow me to quickly disinfect many of the surfaces you see above without having to pull out multiple cleaning supplies.  These are my go-to when I need to easily clean up a mess without a lot of time to do so!

You really can do you part to prevent the cold and flu in your house without a lot of fuss!  Find these and many more Clorox cleaning products at Amazon, Walmart, Target, Staples and Costco.
