Thank you to Curious World via One2One Network for sponsoring today’s post. All opinions are my own.
I think, as parents, we’re all looking for ways to knock out two (or more) birds with one stone. We want to give our kids engaging and fun activities, but we want them to benefit from those activities as well. Maybe it’s just the teacher in me, but I am kind of a stickler for giving Emmie activities that she loves and that are developmentally/age-appropriate for her. That’s why I jumped at the chance to let her try out the Curious World app a couple of weeks ago.
Curious World is a subscription service available on your iPhone or iPad that delivers a huge variety of early learning activities that are tailored to children ages 3-7, like videos, games, and even books. It touches on 8 key learning areas, like reading and mathematics, to ensure a balanced learning experience. Recommendations are based on your child’s age and developmental stage. New activities are added to the app weekly, so your child will never run out of things to do!
Emmie loves the familiar characters (like Curious George) and the engaging games in Curious World. So many “kid games” out there aren’t really tailored to a preschooler and can become difficult/frustrating…this isn’t one of those. She was able to navigate through the app and find her favorite activities independently. I love that the app is 100% free of advertising. It’s self-contained within the app, so there’s no need to allow your children internet access while using your device!
The parent dashboard available through the “grown-ups” area of the app is awesome. It gives me a summary of how much time Emmie has spent on the app, what her preferences are, and what learning areas she’s explored. It’s a quick way to ensure that she’s getting a well-rounded experience from the app and that we’re hitting on any areas where she might need extra help. Plus, I get to see what she likes playing!
You can sign up for a free trial on the Curious World web site and receive 30 days of unlimited access to the Curious World premium subscriber experience. The Curious World app is currently available on iPhone and iPad devices running iOS 8.0+ and can be downloaded from the App Store. You can also follow along at Curious World’s homes on social media: Facebook, Pinterest, and Twitter.
