Five on Friday

-one-

We're settling back into the routine of the school year.  Both Emmie and I really thrive on a schedule, so it's been great for both of us!

I love hearing her stories in the car each day, and I get pictures like this from school.  We love her teacher and her school!

My emeals subscription expired about a month ago, but instead of renewing it just yet, I decided to try a few recipes I've been saving on Pinterest.  I thought I'd share a few with y'all that we loved!

Million Dollar Spaghetti - This has become a staple on our meal rotation.  You'll never make spaghetti the same way again!

Crock Pot Chicken and Dressing - Super easy to put together.  I threw some frozen green beans on top with a little bit of salt and pepper too!

Cowboy Quiche - This was more of a "use up the things in my fridge" meal, but turned out to be delicious.  I served with Paula Deen's Garlic Cheese Grits and her Tomato/Cucumber Salad.
-Pregnancy

Pioneer Woman Mexican Rice - I served this with just regular tacos...such an easy and delicious side dish! (Side note: we used brown rice, and it does take longer than white rice.)

Poor Man's Lasagna - We had this last night!  Super easy to put together.

Chicken and Mushroom Soup - I made this awhile ago, but man, it was so good.  This would be perfect for a cold night.

Thought I'd give a little pregnancy update!

(I've really got to start taking non-bathroom pictures.)

-I'm 16 weeks
-Up about 2 pounds now
-Still sick (it looks like I'm going to be one of the lucky ones that gets to do this after 16 weeks).  It's definitely slowing down some, but still rearing its ugly head in the mornings and starting around late afternoon, lasting through dinner time.
-Feeling a teeny bit of movement, maybe once a day.  I doubt I'd notice it if I wasn't looking for it.  I remember distinctly feeling it by this point with Emmie...I'm kind of surprised it's taken this long!
-Still having some issues with the SCH.  I've had a couple of incidents in the past month or so...nothing major, my doctor thinks it's just resolving itself.  We haven't had an ultrasound in 3 weeks, so not sure if it's resolving yet.  I'm still taking it very easy and not lifting really anything bigger than a gallon of milk (which has been a challenge with a toddler!).
-We find out gender September 29th!

-four-

We had the chance to go to a Saints preseason game in New Orleans last weekend!  It was Emmie's first football game (can you believe that?!) and my first NFL game.  It really was a ton of fun...way more entertaining than I expected to be honest!

Lately, I have really been trying to reevaluate how I'm spending my time.  Between taking care of our home/family (which is first priority), keeping up with blog responsibilities, and trying to design blogs on the side, everything just became too much.  I was working almost every night and weekends...just about every spare second I had was spent catching up (and I hated that feeling).  Something had to go.

Emmie's back in school, so that's helping some with scheduling.  But, especially since we know this next year is going to be a pretty busy one for our family, I've decided to stop doing blog designs.  Not saying that I won't ever go back to it, but something's got to give, and that's the item that takes the most time with the smallest return...it was the obvious choice.

Obviously I'm going to finish out paid orders, and if you've contacted me in the past month or so about a design, I'll still take that order.  But just no more after that.  And if you need maintenance on your site (change out pictures, wording, etc.), I'll take those orders through September 30th.  Just email me if you're needing that!

Designing has been a wonderful outlet for me for the past 6 years, but all good things must come to an end, right?  And, after everything evens out next year, I might pick it back up...we'll see.  But I want to savor every second of what will more than likely be my last pregnancy and baby.  I can start designing later down the road, but I know I'll never get this time back!
