We're already at 3 months! In some ways, it feels like I've been pregnant forever already...in some ways, I can't believe we're already to the "fun part" of the pregnancy.
I thought I'd stick to the same questions I did when I was pregnant with Emmie...it's kind of fun to compare! (Here's my post from about the same time with her.)
Size of Baby: According to Babycenter, the size of a lemon. But, the baby was measuring a full week ahead as of last week's ultrasound, so probably a little bigger!
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Only down maybe 1 or 2 pounds from pre-pregnancy. I've made myself keep eating (even with nausea) through the first trimester, so I didn't lose nearly as much weight this time around as I did with Emmie!
Maternity Clothes: Despite the weight loss, ev-uh-re-thing I've gained this time has gone straight to my stomach. They're not kidding when they tell you you'll show faster the 2nd time around! So pants have to have a stretchy band right now (regular, buttoning pants don't work without the rubber band trick) and shirts need to be a little loose to get away with them. Not wearing all that much maternity...it's still a little big, and most of my maternity clothes are for winter anyway (which definitely ain't happening yet).
Gender: At last week's ultrasound, we did get a little sneaky peeky. :) But, the ultrasound tech said that, a lot of times, the gender isn't really distinguishable yet (I was 13 weeks at that point)...so she told us to definitely not start buying blue or pink yet. We're not telling anyone just yet, in case our guess is wrong, but we have an idea. We'll know for sure in about 6 weeks! And if our guess from the ultrasound is right, my instinct for this pregnancy has been right all along!
Movement: I keep thinking I'm feeling something, but it's just so hard to know for sure if I'm feeling kicks yet. I was the world's worst about having "phantom kicks" (Google it, it's a real thing) after I had Emmie, and honestly, what I'm feeling doesn't feel all that different from those. I'm sure I've felt 1 or 2 real kicks, it's just not really distinguishable yet.
Sleep: Really not bad. My stomach is really sore if I sleep on my belly (like I normally do), so I've had to start sleeping with a pillow between my legs so I don't roll over in the middle of the night. But besides that, I can't complain!
What I miss: Not being sick. :) I just need a good 3-4 day stretch with no nausea. A big cup of coffee and some sushi (not together) would be great. And I do miss working out! But not a lot...this is way better. :)
Cravings: Not much...it's more about what I don't want to eat (i.e. everything) than what I want lately. I've really liked non-meat kinds of protein (avocados, peanut butter, etc.), and I do have more of a sweet tooth than normal.
Symptoms: Nausea (some days are better than others), still a little bit of a lack of energy. My nausea medicine makes me sleepy, so I think that's most of my problem. I've also noticed I can't sit in the same place for too long...my back gets really sore! I do still the subchorionic hematoma...it was still about the same size at the last ultrasound (but not bigger). Hoping that goes away soon!
Best Moment This Month: Our last ultrasound! Emmie was there, so she got to see the baby moving around. We got lots of great shots and it was so fun to see the baby "in action."
