Five on Friday

I feel like I haven't done a life catch-up in awhile! We're really kind of boring right now...happy, busy, but boring.  Here are a few highlights from our past few weeks!

-one-

Yesterday was Emmie's last day of school!

The one on the left was taken on her first day; the right was taken yesterday.  She turned from a baby into a little girl and I didn't even realize it!

We went to her end-of-the-year program that morning.  She had been SO excited all week about getting to sing on the "big stage" and letting us come watch her.

Her end-of-the year party was afterwards. Can you tell how much she loves having her picture taken at this point?

It has been such a wonderful school year.  We absolutely love her preschool and I've enjoyed watching her grow and learn so much.

Last week, we had the chance to go to a Derby party at some friends' house!

I've honestly never really celebrated the Derby, but it was a lot of fun to get dressed up for really no reason. :) And side note - do y'all know how hard it is to find a Derby hat at the last minute?  Plan ahead - it took me hours (in town and online) to find one that wasn't ugly as sin or ridiculously expensive. (Mine is here...thank God for Amazon and their one-day shipping.)

The great storage room clean-out continues.  The pictures above were taken on two consecutive days...notice that they're completely different.  Just when I think we have it all organized and ready for the attic, another batch comes home.  It's mostly holiday decorations and baby stuff, but man, it's taking a sweet forever to organize.  My house has looked like an explosion the past few weeks.

But the bright side is that we're finding a ton of stuff we had forgotten about!  I told Noah that it's kind of like a really junky, dirty Christmas every time he brings home a new load of boxes. :)

I'm (attempting) gardening again this year!  I found an awesome deal on organic herbs at Walmart a few weeks ago, and I've got four gorgeous tomato plants cooking in my garden window.

(Can we just talk about the garden window for a minute?  I'm in love.  I guess you don't see them in new homes a ton anymore, but we will definitely be putting one in if we build.  It's so convenient for herbs and small veggie plants! It's one of the many things I love about this house.)

So April 27th was our ADR booking date for Disney (for those who haven't ever done a Disney trip, you have to book the high-demand dinner reservations for your stay 180 days out.  It sounds ridiculous, and it kind of is, but it's just part of it.).  We woke up at 5am, had our computers/iPads ready, and after a few intense minutes, we had all of our reservations that we wanted...maybe not at the perfect times, but we had them on the days we wanted!  We were so excited.

Fast forward two hours. TWO HOURS.  Disney surprised everyone and released the free dining dates .  One time period was a day later than our stay, so we had our travel agent bump our trip up a day.  No big deal!

She gets back to me a few hours later to tell me that our hotel had no availability for free dining on those days.

THE DRAMA.  Both me and our travel agent scrambled to find a new room for the rest of the day.

So we're going a few weeks later now, and we'll be staying at the Caribbean Beach Resort instead.  It's got its advantages...we'll be there during Christmas now and I'm so excited about that!

Happy Friday and a huge Happy Mother's Day to everyone celebrating this weekend!

Linking up over here today...
