From the time we started talking about her 3rd birthday party, there was no doubt what the theme was going to be. Each time we ask her what kind of party she wanted, she answered the same way; Firetruck. Never once did it chance. So, a fireman birthday party she got!
In years past (1st birthday party and 2nd birthday party), I've spent so much time planning the party...I'm talking months of planning and coordinating. This year? I planned it in an afternoon and I spent maybe a week getting everything together. I think I've finally caught on to the fact that it's about the kids and doesn't have to be some big production. I still wanted it to be cute and colorful for her though! More than anything this year, I wanted the party to be something she loved and would remember.
It was kind of an early morning party, so I stuck with foods that a) were easy to prepare and b) were somewhat breakfast-friendly.
Here's the menu!
Fiery Fruit - Mix of strawberries, pineapple, and orange slices
Little Smokies - Cocktail weenies wrapped in crescent roll dough
Fire hoses - Red licorice
Fireballs - Cheese balls
Firetruck Wheels - Mini chocolate doughnuts
Matchsticks - pretzel sticks dipped in red candy melts
Firehouse Cupcakes - Made with this tutorial (FYI - it's much harder than it looks!) (see below for printable cupcake toppers)
Extinguish Your Thirst - Lemonade and Water
I kept the tables simple too...just a little bit of tissue paper in dollar tree cups to look like fire, with balloons in the middle of the tables. Each seat had a fireman's hat for the little firefighters.
Party favors were these cute fireman rubber duckies I found. If you'd like a printable version of the favor tags, click here...I just glued the duckies on with a dab of hot glue.
Emmie had lots of friends to celebrate with her!
She had a few fun gifts...
...and even a couple of grandmothers in the foam pit.
It was the perfect party for our 3 year old!
Happiest of birthdays to my sweet girl!
If you're planning your own firetruck/fireman birthday party and would like to use our printables, here's a link to download each one for free! Just click the graphics below. If you're cutting these, I'd highly recommend a straight-edge paper cutter like this one.
(I cut these out with a circular paper cutter like this one.)
Hope y'all find these helpful!
