A New Way to Communicate with HomeTeam™

Many of you know that our family recently moved 3 hours away from my parents.  My whole life I had lived within minutes of both my parents and grandparents, so needless to say, it was an adjustment.  I had to learn how to have a long-distance relationship with my parents, as well as how to foster a long-distance relationship between my parents and Emma Ramey.

We are frequent video chat users.  Up until now, it has been, without a question, the best way to keep Emma Ramey connected to grandparents.  It is so great that we live in a time where we can all interact from hundreds of miles away.  But many long-distance grandparents will understand that there could definitely be more meaningful interaction than simply talking to/seeing each other over video chat.

That is why I was so excited to find out about the HomeTeam™ app by Panasonic.  This is so much more than just a video chat service - it's a way for grandparents and grandchildren to build memories and have meaningful interactions.

Here's how it works: visit this site on your iPad, Android device, or laptop/desktop to sign up.  From there, connect with your loved ones by using video chat or utilizing the different interactive games/books on the site.

Through HomeTeam, you can actually read books and play games with your loved ones.  There are hundreds of book titles for many different age ranges... everything from Curious George to the latest popular book series.  They're divided by age range, and the site even saves your favorites for easy access.

There are also games that allow grandparents to have a little bit of fun with grandchildren, no matter how far away.  They range from classics like chess/checkers to a few that are exclusive to HomeTeam.

The teacher side of me loves that my parents have the opportunity to interact with Emma Ramey in an educational way.  Many of the games have educational enhancements that sharpen math, vocabulary, and science skills. They can read to her, and in a few years, she will even be able to read to them.  How cool is it that they have the chance to see that?  I also love that this app gives them an opportunity to get past just basic conversations... they have to opportunity to make priceless memories.  This app really does bridge both distance and generations.

You will be able to download HomeTeam on March 24th from the app store or Google Play.  Users have access to unlimited use of all features for the first 30 days; after that, monthly ($8.99/month) or yearly ($89.99/year) subscriptions are available.  You can check out more info about HomeTeam at their website!

And now, you have the chance to win a $100 Visa Gift Card from Panasonic and BlogHer!  To enter for a chance to win, comment below telling me which feature of HomeTeam you are most excited to use.
