Last Wednesday night, we hit the road for Tuscaloosa. I know this sounds weird to most people, but we time when we're in Tuscaloosa for Thanksgiving by whether or not the Auburn game is there that weekend. :) We know we're going to be there every other year anyway, but that way, we can be in town for the game and see lots of friends we don't get to see most of the year!
We really had a low-key Thanksgiving...we stayed at my parents house and had the traditional smorgasbord of awesome food. I took no pictures...gasp...cardinal sin of a blogger! I don't think I even put Emma Ramey's Thanksgiving outfit on - she was in jambes pretty much the whole day - and it was kind of nice. Really laid back and relaxing.
Friday we did a little bit of Black Friday shopping, both online and in the stores. The stores in Tuscaloosa really weren't as packed as I thought they would be! We had a great lunch downtown and really just browsed most of the day. Noah and I went to a great new place (Southern Ale House) that night that wasn't there when we moved - a very cool atmosphere and good food!
Saturday was the big game!
We spent the day at our good friends' house "tailgating" before the game. They are always the best hosts, and open up their home for just about every home game! Emma Ramey adores it there...especially their German Shorthair Pointers, Bryant and Belle.
Her "Uncle Harry" even had a stuffed Bryant waiting for her when she got there! (Just a side note, if you're reading this Harrison, she's slept with it just about every night this week.)
That night, my parents took Emma Ramey and we headed to campus. Instead of going to the game, we went to a couple of our favorite campus hangouts to watch it...I've always preferred this option honestly. It was great to visit a few places we don't get to see often anymore.
We've been home since Sunday, and man...I'm just now catching up! I honestly meant for this post to go up on Tuesday, but I just haven't had a spare 30 minutes to sit down and write it. I'm (finally) almost caught up though!
We decorated our first tree in this home Tuesday night! It's not totally done (I'm hoping and praying there's one more box of ornaments in storage...we're missing a few personal ones), but I'll show a "finished product" picture when we are.
Emmie was SO into decorating this year. I think this is the first year she really gets everything, and it's so much fun!
Of course, she had to decorate her own personal tree too. :)
I love how "into" everything she already is. For years, the little tree in her room sat in my classroom, and I dreamed of the day that my little girl/boy would decorate it. That day is here, and it's even better than I could have imagined!
We had Christmas pictures Wednesday night. I am so beyond in love with them! This is just the sneak peek from Facebook, and I can't wait to see the rest. Our photographer is Kelly's Kreations...if you're local, she is awesome to work with!
And, last but certainly not least, our friend Eddie is back. Emmie's been so excited to find him every morning...and, for the most part, she's snapped right back into shape when there was a threat of Eddie telling Santa how she was acting. So he's doing his job. :)
Thanks for staying with my hodgepodge of a post...tis the season I guess! Have a great weekend, and if you're reading this on Saturday, Roll Tide Roll!!!
