New Years Resolutions 2014

Hi friends…Happy Friday!  We've been laying low all week, in our best attempt not to spread this awful virus to everyone in town.  Emma Ramey was a trooper…out of 9 people in this house, she was the only one that didn't get it.  I'm shocked and so happy!

I wanted to share a few of my resolutions for 2014 - mostly for accountability, and partly just for memory's sake. :)

1.  Lose weight - I know, I know.  Every year.  But more than losing weight, I really want to get committed to a healthier lifestyle this year.  There are no excuses this year - we have a gym with childcare, we have a gym in the apartment we're about to rent, and we're going to live in a second floor - that should whip me into shape pretty quickly. :) I'd also like to learn the new grocery stores in my area and how to incorporate healthier foods into our routine.  I just signed up for a year of eMeals - I'm really hoping it adds some new variety to our dinner routine and can help us eat healthier!

2.  Get out and meet people - I'm the girl that has lived in the same town my entire life.  I've never really had to try to meet people, they've always just been there.  So the transition to moving to another state has had a little bit of a learning curve. But I'm making it a top priority to really get out and meet people this year.  We're getting involved in a new church and I want to try to find a few new play groups/toddler activities to meet some mommy friends.

3.  Build a home and not go crazy - Since we've been talking about building, I've had several friends tell me I might be losing my mind that it can be a difficult process.  We're still looking for an already built house, but just not seeing anything…so chances are we'll either be building or buying a house and heavily renovating this year.  I'm making it a goal to stay organized and decisive in the process. (Any help is appreciated!)

4.  Be a more committed wife and mother - I've had that tinge of mommy guilt lately over not being there as much as I'd like.  When I say that, I mean playing on social media when I should be playing with my daughter, or not talking to my husband as much as I should each night.  This is a big goal for this year - to use my time more efficiently and being there for my daughter and husband when I should be.
