-Little Miss had her first cake pop last week. As you can see by the picture, she hated it.
-We went apartment hunting this weekend! We've finally decided that it's going to take a little bit to get a permanent place here, so we're trying to lock down a temporary solution in the meantime. Our house still isn't sold in Tuscaloosa, so we're really trying to wait until that's out of the way before picking up another mortgage. I think we found one! We're looking at moving in after the holidays are over.
-When we move, we're seriously considering (i.e. we've basically already decided) we're not getting cable/satellite. There are so many great options out there, and for what we watch, we really don't have to pay the $100/month. Thoughts? Anybody out there done this?
-Speaking of finding things...we visited a GREAT church yesterday. It reminded us so much of our church at home, and Emma Ramey looked like she was having a great time in the nursery when we went to pick her up. We still might visit one or two more, but we are leaning heavily towards this one.
-It's becoming clearer and clearer we won't be in our own place for Christmas. I'm not going to lie - I'm a little sad we won't be able to decorate with our own decorations for Christmas, but I've decided the people make the holiday, not the stuff. All of our decorations are still in storage in Tuscaloosa, and I'm not about to dig those out just to make a point. It's looking like this is going to be a very simple Christmas...and I'm actually kind of excited about it!
-There's one decoration that. will. be. the death. of. me. I'm sure I mentioned last year that I was working on cross-stitched stockings for the family. If you're thinking about going down this route - think LONG and hard before doing it. I'd say I've put in 100-200 hours on each one, easily. I'm done with Hardy's (it was little), and I'm almost done with Emma Ramey's and Noah's. Maybe they'll be done by our first Christmas in our new house?
-Noah was a big winner last week! We went to a local CCA event Thursday night with a few friends, and they had some great door prizes if you fish. Noah's name was called for one of the very last ones - including a Yeti Cooler, a pair of Costa sunglasses, and a bunch of fun fishing things. He was SO excited! He might or might not have sang "I just won a Yeti" to the tune of "We just got a letter" from Blue's Clues all the way home.
-The preacher at church yesterday mentioned that Americans typically eat 3,500-4,000 calories at their Thanksgiving meal. So if you need me this week, I'll be at the gym.
-In case you were wondering if Emma Ramey's keeping me on my toes...
Happy (short week) Monday!
