Thanks so much for all of the congratulations, well wishes, and advice from social media and the blog yesterday…it was so fun seeing it all! We are so, so excited about everything happening in our lives. Here’s what’s been going on for the past few weeks!
Like I mentioned, Noah hadn’t been actively looking for a job in Mississippi until a couple of months ago. He applied for a couple of jobs, and the one he ended up getting was one of the first ones he found (HUGE blessing). It quickly became his favorite opportunity after his interview, and we are so excited that he got it! He’s going to be working in mortgages for a bank here in town.
Noah’s parents live not far from where Noah works, so for the time being, they very graciously offered to let us live with them. If we end up being without a home here for a couple of months, we will probably rent…but this is a great short-term solution. Their house has a wonderful layout for us to have our own space, and the grandparents are soaking up LOTS of Emma Ramey time.
We need to sell our house in Tuscaloosa before we can look at any kind of long-term home here (so somebody buy it, PLEASE!). We’ve been looking at the market for the past few weeks, and I think we’re learning towards building…we kind of have our own ideas for what we want, and we’re just not seeing it for sale. If the perfect house comes along without having to build it, we’d love to buy that though! We kind of want this to be a forever home, so we’re being a smidge picky. 🙂
Since we haven’t sold out home in Tuscaloosa, we’ve been in between here and there for the past couple of weeks. We’ve been away from Noah for a good bit of that time, which hasn’t been easy. I missed my husband and Emma Ramey missed her daddy! But we should be back together for awhile now, and I’m so thankful.
Completely uprooting your life is incredibly scary…but in a good way. We are so excited to make a new life here, with new friends and new surroundings. We are so sure that this is the right place for us, and I can’t wait to put down roots here. Get ready to hear lots and lots about it!
