More Than Just a Cup of Coffee

If you know me, you know I love my morning cup of coffee.  It is definitely one of my favorite things about the morning - watching Emma Ramey play while I have my coffee to start the day.

Lately, it seems that I gravitate toward buying things that not only are good for me, but also good for the people around me.  It's always nice to know that the people that work so hard for the products I love have a passion for their work.  But it's also important to know that they are compensated fairly for putting their heart and soul into a product.

That's why I was thrilled to hear that Green Mountain Coffee® offers one of the largest selections of Fair Trade Certified™ coffees in the U.S.  This is a fairly new concept to me - it basically means that the coffee bean farmers that work so hard to bring that quality cup of coffee to me every morning are receiving a fair price for their beans. This improves their quality of life - leading to long-term sustainability for their family and the chance at a great future for their kids.  It really is a fantastic concept!

This October, Green Mountain Coffee® is celebrating Fair Trade month with their "Great Coffee, Good Vibes, Choose Fair Trade" campaign.  They'll be introducing Fair Trade Certified™ Three Continent Blend - a combination of flavors and aromas of three continents in one harmonious Extra Bold blend.  Not only does it sound delicious, but you can feel good drinking something that is helping others build a better life!  Green Mountain Coffee is also teaming up with Kelly Clarkson this fall.

I love a good cup of coffee - but I love it even more when I know that the people that worked hard for it are getting what they deserve.  Green Mountain Coffee is leading the way in ensuring that a cup of coffee isn't just a cup of coffee - it's a chance to a farmer to support his family.  That makes me enjoy their products even more!
