The Unencumbered Blog

Hi Friends!

No, I did not fall off the face of the planet.  As summer's normally get, ours has gotten exceptionally busy in the past week or so.  We took an impromptu trip to New Orleans for our birthdays, and Emma Ramey had a phenomenal weekend with the grandparents.
And that's about all I have to say about that.
As this blog has evolved, I feel like I've been less incumbered to write down every single solitary detail of our life.  I'll be honest - there for awhile, it became overwhelming to have to put up every single picture I had taken of Emma Ramey, or write about every outing/vacation we had.  While I still do want to write about those things on here, I think this blog has become more of my "jotting-down territory."
In that, I mean, I jot.  If I have a recipe I love, I write it down on here.  If I want to remember a day in our lives, this is my place to record it.  If I just need to get some thoughts out, or want to remember great things I found, you guessed it...I jot.
I love the evolution this blog has taken.  It's less about "having" to write something or "having" to do a post every day about our lives, and more about my life-recording.  Yes, there's a difference.  I think there's a lot more to life than just recording what happened - blogs can be a great place to record findings, thoughts, and the occasional grievance.

And yes, let's go there - I do have some sponsored content.  I am thinking about doing a full post that details just what I do to make money on my blog, because I think it's fair to lay it all out there (plus I'm sure a few of your might want to get in on some of the action!).  This blog has been a blessing to us in the past year...going from two incomes to one isn't always easy, and the money I've made from this blog and from doing blog designs has helped so much.
That being said, I don't want to get to all sponsored content on this blog...ever.  There is a very fine line between making money on your blog and alienating your readers.  It's not always easy to stay on the right side of that line, but I'm going to continue to try...I like having y'all around. :)

So, I guess I said all of that to say this...thanks for sticking around through my continual blog evolution.  I know I can be kind of random, and I thank y'all for seeing through the randomness and wanting to see more!
