Show Us Your Life - Living Rooms

There are two versions of my living room.

There's this one - the well-kept, neat, organized, showy version.  This is what was in Kelly's Show Us Your Life a few years ago.

Then there's the one I have now...the one that looks like a Babies R Us threw up in it.

And to be honest with you, I like this one better. :)

Welcome to our new babified living room!

This is looking in from the front door.

The big difference between this one and the one we have now, besides the obvious baby overkill, is our hardwood floors.  We put them in a few months ago and love them!  The upkeep is a little bit harder, but they just look so much cleaner to me.

Views of the foyer.  The ceiling in our entryway has always been one of my favorite parts of the house!

I've always loved our ceilings. :)  Now Emma Ramey does too...the fan and the tray ceilings are one of the first things she ever noticed.

Another big change in our house - Noah's working from home for the next couple of months, so we have office crap everywhere a nice home office in our kitchen. :)

Not much has changed about our coffee table, except the ever present pacifier (can you spot it?).

With my new picture of my girl. :)

I'd like to show you a picture of my couch all well-put-together, but you know, Hardy wanted to lay there...and if you've read this blog at all, you're not surprised by that.

Another ever-present item in our living room...the burp cloth.

Looking back into the living room from the kitchen.

We've always had a "Hardy chair" but this one's new...and he gets to share the corner with little sister stuff now. :)

So it's not quite the same as it used to be, but I wouldn't have it any other way!

Head on over to Kelly's blog to see more living rooms!

Memorial Day Weekend

Emma Ramey had her first trip out of town this weekend!  We thought it would be a good time to get her out and show her off. :)

We went and visited Noah's parents in Hattiesburg.  Since it isn't too far away and we'd feel a little more at home, we thought this would be a good first trip for her.  She did great!

On the way down Friday...she loves riding in the car!

She got to play on her new mat...and loved it!  This is where she hung out most of the weekend.

Watching TV with Daddy on her TWO month birthday Saturday!

I mentioned yesterday that she LOVES the TV now!  She watched it if she could see it all weekend.

On Saturday, Noah's parents kept Emma Ramey while we had a little mini lunch date and went shopping.  Then, on Sunday, they watched her while we took a trip to Biloxi to check out the new Margaritaville Casino!  It was a fun weekend and the grandparents got some grand baby time! :)

I got these pictures while we were gone...

Mississippi State was in the baseball championship that day, so they got this picture of her cheering them on...trust me, we had a talk later about how that was only a one day thing. :)

On Monday, Noah and his dad went fishing, so Emma Ramey and I hung out with her Nana.  She got to wear her red, white, and blue for Memorial Day! :)

We went to check out the fish once Daddy and Supe got home!

The gross fish...

She did great going home today too...slept pretty much the whole time.  We are so lucky that this girl likes the car and likes to sleep! :)

(We've moved the chest clip on the carseat up now...thanks for all of those that were concerned. :))

And Hardy finally found the one advantage to having a little sister...he gets to ride up front with Noah.  He was in heaven.

2 Months

This post is a little late - we've been out of town for the holiday weekend!  More on that tomorrow.

Emma Ramey - you are TWO months old!  Here's what you're up to now.

(I stole this list from a friend's blog...I like how it's organized and has the same thing for every month!)

Weight:
Last week you were 14.4 pounds...still packing on the weight!

Height:
I have no clue.  You go for your 2 month appointment tomorrow, so we'll see then.  I'd say you've grown a lot, because you're gaining weight but not really looking any chunkier!

Clothing Size:
Solidly in 6 month clothes now.  Every once in a while I'll still find a 3 month you can squeeze into.  I bet we could get away with a few 9 month outfits if we had to!

Diapers:
Very much size 2.  I wouldn't be surprised if we started trying size 3's before long.

Feeding:
You're eating about 5 times a day now (sometimes 6, depending on what time you get up).  You usually eat about 6 oz. at each feeding.  We're doing breast milk out of a bottle almost every feeding now...it just works better all the way around!  You're hungry after half the feedings if we try to just nurse.

Hair/Eyes:
You've gotten a lot more hair in the past few weeks!  You've still got the baby mullet going, but you're starting to get some more hair at the top of your head.  I think it might be turning lighter.  And your eyes are still very blue!

Sleep:
You are such a great sleeper.  Usually, you go to sleep at about 9 at night and sleep until about 7.  You also usually take 2 naps a day, probably around 1 1/2 to 2 hours a piece!  Moms on Call has worked so well!

Fun Stuff:

- You've started laughing in the past couple of days!  It is so cute!

-You just started noticing the TV.  I think we may have to break out the Baby Einstein videos soon!  You couldn't take your eyes off of it this weekend.
- I think we're pretty close to rolling over.  You get on your side sometimes, especially if we hold your arm down.

-You love men...seriously.  You will just smile and smile if a man talks to you.

-You've just started noticing your hands and feet.  You like to put your hands in your mouth even if you're not
hungry...Mommy's not too excited about that habit.

-You're trying to talk to us a little bit!  It's just screams and babbles, but you only do it if we're talking to you.

-I can't believe how big you're getting!  I just love you more and more every single day!

Changin' Up

I had a little bit of a life change yesterday.

It was a good change, though. :)

Yesterday was my last day (for at least a little while) as a teacher.  I've mentioned it before on here that I'm going to be blessed enough to stay home with Emma Ramey.  It really is my dream job.  I'm so excited that it's finally here!

Yesterday was a little sad, though.  As far as teaching goes, I had the best job on the planet.  I worked with fabulous people that happened to be good friends, my kids were incredible (I worked at a magnet school, so we had kids from all over the city), I am convinced I had the absolute best principal on Earth, and we were able to do some really cool things with this kids.  It really was a fun three years.

My precious co-workers threw me a "boo hoo breakfast"...complete with blue tablecloth because they were "blue" I was leaving. How precious are they? :)

When I wasn't saying my goodbyes, I was cleaning out my room.  Y'all - how ON EARTH do you collect that much stuff in three years?  I threw away so much - it hurt a little - but was very needed.

This is what it looked like after I was done.  A little sad. :(

(Here's what it looked like last year, and here's what it looked like the year I started.)

The woman that's moving into my room is using the zebra print, which I'm a little thankful for - that was a tough project!  And I wouldn't want to have to paint over zebra print either...haha!

So I'm resigned from my position as of 3:15 yesterday.  I've always hated the word bittersweet, but it really is.  I'm starting the job I've always wanted, but I just finished the second best job ever...it's a little weird.  There are parts of me that will miss it, but I couldn't be happier about the next chapter of my life!

And I have a pretty cute co-worker with this new job too. :)
