Maternity Pictures

We had our maternity pictures made a few weeks ago, and got the prints back this week!  I LOVE them!  We had them made by Jennifer McAteer Photography...she did a great job!

Here are a few of my favorites!

37 Weeks

Size of Baby: According to Baby Center, about the size of a Swiss chard (once again, I have no idea what this is...) - about 6 1/3 pounds and 19 inches

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Up 26 pounds at today's appointment...they aren't kidding about you packing on the pounds at the end...that's 3 pounds in 1 week!

Maternity Clothes: I have 3 or 4 pairs of pants that fit, and basically none of my shirts fit anymore unless they were long to begin with...I have a few undershirts that are a necessity underneath now so my belly doesn't hang out!

Gender: It's a GIRL!  Emma Ramey

Belly Button In/Out: Slight bit of an outie, but nothing definite.  I don't think that it will be a complete outie at all!

Stretch Marks: Besides the belly button scar, nothing!
Labor Signs: Lots of Braxton Hicks, especially last night...so much that I started timing them.  They were still sporadic, probably coming at an average of every 10 minutes or so.  They did do something - as of today, I'm dilated 1 cm!  And she's dropped this week too!

Movement: Definitely a little slower, but still moving a lot.

Sleep:The maternity pillow is still my BFF.  I don't think I could sleep without it right now!  Sleep isn't too bad as long as I can find a good position.

What I miss: Just still functioning normally...yet another reason I can't wait to meet her! :)

What I am looking forward to: Getting everything finished...I am in full-blown nesting mode.  I am basically done with everything at school, and just a few more little things to do at home until I think I'll feel ready!

Cravings/Aversions: Lots of water still.

Symptoms: Braxton Hicks, some minor pain, swollen ankles (and sometimes fingers).

Best Moment This Week: My showers!  They were great!

Showers #2 and #3

Ok, so like I said in the last post - I'm a lucky girl.  I had 3 showers to welcome this sweet baby!

The first shower was about a month ago...it was held by Noah's family.  The second shower was Sunday, and it was held by my side of the family.  We have LOTS of babies showing up on that side of the family lately!

The pretty food table!

The pretty big woman and the pretty food table! :)

With my mom and Noah's mom.

All of the loot before...

...and the loot after!  She got a LOT of great things!

I also had my work shower yesterday.  I absolutely LOVE the people I work with...they were very good to us!

I thought this was the cutest idea...it's a blessing ring that I can hang in her nursery.  I'm planning on putting all of our shower cards on here too!

Here's everybody writing Emma Ramey a sweet note for the ring!

Opening presents!

Mack (my friend Becca's sweet little boy) recognized something that he had at home when I opened it, and ran up to see why I had his stuff!  It was too funny!

Sweet hostesses and good friends!

The best principal in the WHOLE wide world...I can guarantee you I will never have another boss that's better than her!

So we are all but ready at this point!  I think I need another week or two to get everything finished up and organized, so stay put a little bit longer little girl!

Newness

It's been a busy weekend around our house!

I had a shower this weekend (more on that later...), so Noah's parents came in town...partly to come to that, and partly to help us install new floors in our house!  We've had carpet throughout since we moved in, and it never was the best quality...between that and having a Hardy that made it disgusting, it was looking pretty rough.  Noah thinks Emma Ramey's going to come out crawling :), so he wanted to get decent floors in the house before she got here.

See?  It was ripping up at the seams.  Just not looking great.

I couldn't really do much (and wasn't really allowed to do much :)), so Noah and his parents did the bulk of the work.  Of course, Hardy supervised too...

...and loves carpet padding now apparently.

They worked REALLY hard most of the day Saturday and all day Sunday, and this is how it turned out!  I'm loving it!

I also got my push present today, just a couple of weeks early. :)

My old camera was great, but we decided it was time for an upgrade.  Noah told me about it early because he wanted to have it in to use in the hospital, and so we could get any accessories we needed.  It is INSANELY nice!  We went with a Nikon D90, and I'm very happy we did!

I have another shower tomorrow (how lucky am I?), so I'm going to wait and do 1 big post about my last two showers...stay tuned!

36 Weeks

Woof.  I'm going to do my hair for one of these pictures eventually, I promise. :)  There is just NO energy these days!

Size of Baby: According to Baby Center, about the size of a crenshaw melon? Around 18 1/2 inches and almost 6 pounds.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Up 23 pounds as of today.

Maternity Clothes: Even the maternity stuff is a little snug.  I'm having the hardest time with finding shirts that are long enough...I feel like my belly is hanging out the bottom!

Gender: It's a GIRL!  Emma Ramey

Belly Button In/Out: Always flat, sticking out a little bit more...

Stretch Marks: Besides the belly button scar, nothing!
Labor Signs: I've had a lot of Braxton Hicks, and a few contractions that were just a little painful.  They haven't done hardly anything though...still 0 cm dilated and about 25% effaced.

Movement: Still moving like crazy.  We've had more activity in the mornings in the past few days, but that changes periodically.

Sleep: Not great, not bad either...I wake up a few times to use the bathroom or change positions (which is a task in and of itself these days).

What I miss: Moving/functioning...I have loved being pregnant, but moving at all is pretty uncomfortable these days!

What I am looking forward to: Being done with maternity plans, and we have a shower this weekend and Tuesday!

Cravings/Aversions: Just food...I've been really hungry.  And thirsty!

Symptoms: Braxton Hicks, some very minor contractions, waddling, a little bit of swelling, just being generally uncomfortable...I make pregnancy sound fun, don't I? :)

Best Moment This Week: Just making it through!  As much as I'm ready to be done, I'd like to keep it up until my due date!

Emma Ramey's Nursery

The nursery is all but done!  We still have a few little things to add, but it is ready for her if she decides to come tomorrow (don't, by the way, sweet girl!).

I just remember, during the hardest part of getting pregnant, sitting in the middle of this room (when it was our office) and dreaming of the day when it would be a nursery...I can't believe that day is here now!  It is exactly like I envisioned it!

Her door hanger...made using ribbon similar to her room and several fabric scraps from her actual bedding.  It's going to the hospital with us too!

A couple of months ago I got this overwhelming fear that she would come home from the hospital and we would have no clothes for her...I think I went a little overboard in solving that problem.  Girl is good on clothes until she's about a year old...

The hutch and future changing station...just needs the changing pad.

All of the dolls on the shelves were mine from when I was a little girl!  My mom has been saving them for years with the hope that I'd have a little girl to pass them down to.

Please leave it to my husband to buy a flat screen for a newborn. :)

I LOVE this chair!

This verse helped SO much last year...I couldn't have a nursery without it!

Sweet girl is SET on bows!  I think we have one in every color!
