5 Things I Learned Last Week

Noah was out of town on business all week last week...like Sunday morning to Friday night.

So what did Leslie learn on her first week of solo parenting?

1. Taking care of a baby on your own, 24/7, for a week is TOUGH STUFF.  I fully took Noah being here for granted.  Not only does he help around the house, but it's nice to have somebody to watch her for 10 minutes so you can take a shower!  I know I can handle it when I have to do 8-5 during the week...but it's hard to do it all day, every day. (Not complaining, I promise, because even though it was hard it was everything I've ever wanted...but I just missed my husband.)
2.  Emma Ramey is in a better mood with both of us here.  She just is.  She was kind of off last week - a little whiney, didn't want to stay awake as long as normal during the day, wanted to be close to me more.  She could definitely tell something wasn't right.
3.  I am very thankful Noah doesn't travel a lot with his job.  I'm not cut out for it.
4.  Even though I don't like him traveling, I work much, much better with Noah out of the house.  I kind of knew this before, but I really learned it last week.  I mean I've got checklists, to-do lists, menu plans, a clean house - it's intense.  So, as much as I love Noah being here all the time, it's not necessarily a bad thing for him to be gone some.
5.  These two are fun to hang out with - really!  They were so cute together.  Emma Ramey just lit up when Hardy would walk near her.  And, as much as he doesn't want to admit it, he loves her too.  Considering Emma Ramey was who I was hanging out with during the day, she's not bad company!  That girl is FUNNY - she had me laughing (really laughing, not just faking for her) so many times.  She's going to have such a fun personality!
So last week was a very educational experience.  Makes me appreciate the people I have around me so much more!
