Thursday Mish-Mash

-I just realized I would have been (if I had an evil doctor, and this little girl never came on her own) 45 weeks pregnant today.  That's a little weird to think about!  Just out of curiousity, I looked it up, and there was a woman pregnant for 53 weeks.  Bless her soul.

-We are right in the middle of Moms on Call boot camp around here.  To be fair, I'm doing most of their recommendations, but not exactly by the book...I know, I know, please don't lecture.  I'm not giving her a bath every night, and I've cheated and held her for naps some.  I'm also not letting her cry quite as much as they recommend.  I just got through reading Baby Wise too, and I really like their take on reading the baby's cries and responding to what they need, instead of crying it out every time....so I'm leaning more that way.  But, for the most part, we're on Moms on Call routine, and it's working!  She is almost perfectly on the MOC schedule...eating every three hours during the day, and sleeping 9:30-6 with one feeding during the night.  Not too bad for a 3 week old!

-On that note, we're still working on swaddling.  She HATES it.  Like, fights out of the swaddle for the first 20 minutes of her naptime instead of sleeping.  But, when I take her out of it, she wakes herself just as soon as she goes to sleep.  I've got it about as tight as it will go, I think any tighter and it would hurt her or hurt her breathing.  I'm thinking about trying a Miracle Blanket, I've heard good things about those...we'll see!

-And speaking of baths, we tried our first full-on bath a couple of nights ago!  She wasn't a fan, but I think it was just the newness of it that she didn't like.

-We had another grandparents visit yesterday. :)

-She's taking a pumped bottle every night now for her last feeding, and doing great!  I was a little worried it would confuse her, but she's done a good job so far.  And it gives Dad some good bonding time with her (and Mom a chance to nap if I want to! :))

(This was her first bottle.)
