We’ve been in Hattiesburg (Noah’s hometown) since Friday afternoon. Noah’s birthday is on the fourth, and since he had today off work for the holiday, we made it a full weekend! It’s really rare that all of Noah’s family is home all at once, since he and his brothers are so spread out, and it was so nice to see everyone!
(This is going to be kind of boring, because genius here forgot to charge her camera before she left. Whoops.)
Saturday we went to Biloxi for the day. We ate at The Shed on the way…it was on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives a few months back, and definitely lived up to its name. AWESOME barbecue! I had barbecue nachos…definitely full of calories, but definitely worth it! We stopped by the beach on the way there to see if there were any tar balls yet. Not really much to report to be honest…they say that the worst in Mississippi isn’t on the actual coast, but on the barrier islands. We didn’t spot any, so I guess no sightings are a good thing!
Sunday was Noah’s birthday! His mom got this super cute cake from a popular bakery there. It was SO good! There were cookies that matched, and they tasted just like the cake. (Can you tell I ate a lot this weekend?)
The birthday boy…note the birthday boy pin…LOVE IT!
We also went this blues festival in downtown Hattiesburg Sunday night. Besides the fact that it was HOT, we had a good time! There were lots of families there, and they had all kinds of vendors set up. I just LOVE downtown Hattiesburg…there’s all kinds of old buildings and history! Plus it’s just super family-friendly.
So after hanging around and spending time today, we’re finally home. This is my first full week off of school (that I wasn’t in Alaska)! I’m catching up on TV (did you SEE that Jake/Vienna brawl?), and have every intention of cleaning my house top to bottom. We’ll see how that turns out!
Hope you had a fabulous fourth!
