I think everybody has their own specific decorating style. Noah and I actually agree (fairly) well on decorating - neutral colors, accented by a few bold, bright colors. You can see pretty much every room in our house here - these are from last summer, but our house hasn't changed too much in a year.
A few things I've picked up along the way -
-Find one or two colors that you love, and stick with that throughout your house. We were very lucky to move into a house that has the same neutral paint color throughout. It is a great palette for pretty much anything you want to put on it. So, we decided that since the color was the same, the accents should be the same too. We have mostly neutral colors, with just a little red/green/gold mixed in.
-Have accents, but don't clutter. This is really something I've learned from Noah (whether I'd like to admit it or not) - too many pieces of "fluff" (like frames, plants, etc.) can make your house look cluttered and too busy. Have a few nice accents, but keep it simple.
-Learn how to sew! This goes SO far in decorating with fabrics you like AND saves money! I have made the pillows for our living room, mostly because I am far too picky to choose from a few pillows at Kirkland's (don't get me wrong, they're cute, but once again, I'm picky). Plus it was way cheaper to make them myself!
-Hobby Lobby's 40% off coupons are your friend. Just sayin'.
Alright, what do you guys have this week?? Just link up your favorite decorating ideas, or pictures of decorating throughout your house!
