There are several charities that are near and dear to my heart!
I have loved the Ronald McDonald House charities since I was in college. I was an ADPi in college, and this was our official philanthropy...so I was able to work a lot with RMH! They provide a place for families of sick children to stay while they are in the hospital. SUCH a great cause!
The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation is a cause that I fully support. Breast cancer runs in my family (my maternal grandmother was diagnosed in her early 40's, when my mother was 3), and is something that is constantly on my mind.
A lot of people know the American Humane Association for protecting animals. My parents have 2 pets from the local Humane Society...it's just a great cause that helps control our pet population and takes care of animals that are already here. But did you know that they are also a child advocacy association? A great cause for those that can't help themselves!
Seriously the easiest charity you will ever donate to...this is a program through the United Nations' World Food program. You go to the website, play games, and they donate rice/educational program for every question you answer correctly! Takes very little time, no money, and you actually learn a couple of things too!
And, finally, y'all know I love me some Swagbucks...well they will occasionally run a section where you can donate your Swagbucks towards a certain charity! I did it a month or two ago for the Haiti Relief effort. They also have several gift cards all the time that donate towards a certain charity if you purchase them. What a great deal for great causes!
