You'll never guess what I collect. :)
I've collected Barbies since I was a little girl. It started with my dad getting me a holiday Barbie every year for Christmas - it was just his traditional Christmas present to me. I eventually started collecting other Barbies too!
Here's a few of the ones I have...there are a TON more, but most are in storage at my parents' house.
I have pretty much all of the Holiday Barbies from the 90's and early 2000's. The early 90's ones are the ones above, out of the box, looking terrible - those are obviously the ones I played with. Once I got old enough to stop playing with Barbies, I kept them in the boxes. I've heard before the early 90's ones are worth hundreds of dollars if they're in the box, mint - which mine are definitely not! I definitely don't regret taking them out though - I had more fun with those things than any collector will ever know.
You can really tell what I was interested in at the time by what kind of Barbie I have. I LOVED The Wizard of Oz and The Nutcracker as a child, so I got the special editions as gifts!
I also went through a nostalgic phase - I loved anything from the 50's and 60's. I have a few of the replica early Barbies. The My Fair Lady one above is one of my favorite collector's Barbies!
But - if you really want to know what my favorite ones are...
...it would be the ones that I used to pretend I was an Olympic gymnast (complete with the somersault ring on the side), or...
...the ones I used to pretend I was a princess. (Sidenote - don't you love how gloriously 90's this one is?)
What great memories!
