Noah and I have a special language when we talk to Hardy...does anybody else do that? It's normal English, except for everything has an "-ies" added to the end of it. At dinner time, he's "hungries." At bed time, he's "sleepies." When he's clawing at his ear, he's got the "scratchies."
Today, I've got the sickies.
If you'll remember, I was sick this weekend. Sunday, completely fine. Monday, completely fine up until about 5. Around the time Noah got home, I was fading fast. I took my temp about 6:30, and it was at 100.5. So I took some Tylenol, and it went back down to normal. I falsely hoped I could go to work today.
At 5:30 this morning, my temp was back up to over 100. So I went in to work about 6 so I wouldn't get anybody else sick, got my sub plans done, and came back home and CRASHED. I didn't wake up until somebody from the school called me for something at noon. NOON! I can't remember the last time I slept that late.
I'm a little better, but I think it's mostly got to do with the Tylenol. I'm in the process of letting it wear off right now to see if I've got fever still, so we'll see. I REALLY need to go to work tomorrow, so if it wanted to magically go away, that'd be ok with me.
I'm recovering now, and just realized I hadn't done the grocery post for this week. I did cheat a little last week...if you remember, I was taking the week off from grocery shopping because I completely went over budget the week before. I spent 26 cents at the grocery store last week. Sue me. I got some free trail mix and had to pay for tax.
So this week, I'm trying to keep it in control. I spent $16.47 (pretax) for $47.14 worth of groceries...for a 65% savings!
Here's how it broke down:
12 Dannon Yogurts - Normally 50 cents each, on sale for 40 cents each, had 2 $1/6 coupons - $2.80 for all 12 yogurts
Publix Brand Cream Cheese Spread - Normally $1.53, on sale for $1.25

Leslie, I sincerely hope you feel MUCH better real soon. My first year of teaching elementary was my SICKEST year EVER!!!! I learned real fast to ALWAYS take a flu shot, plenty of vitamins, and STILL love on the kids. Most days I'm the best thing most of them have and I'm the ONLY one to love on them. They need you, so hold your breath, and get better soon, cause those little guys are missing you. :):):) dsfox625@hotmail.com
Haha. The first paragraph made me laugh! Jon and I always wonder how people would react if they heard how we talk around the dog. We do the "-ies" thing too! We do it so often now, it's like part of our vocabulary. In the morning, I always tell Rocky that Daddy is going to workies!
Sickies are no good though! I hope you get to feeling better soon!
That is so funny! I say the same things to my dog....scratchies, sneezies, snackies....it's a sickness :)
We definitely use the -ies! Feel better!
