I finished a couple of blog designs this weekend and today, and I thought I'd give everybody a look!

(It's a beagle...I KNOW!!! I got a little excited when she asked me to put a picture of a beagle in a header!!)

Shortest Not Me! Ever

I did not let my dog lick my plates clean this week. That is disgusting. When I had stuck-on spaghetti remnants, he didn't get the treat of a lifetime.

(Yes, I did run them through the dishwasher later. I'm not that disgusting people, just a little lazy when it comes to scrubbing.)

And Hardy does NOT get this excited when he finds out he gets to go to my parents' house. He luuvves our house, and would never want to leave.

(Miss Minnie is my parents' dog.)


And he certainly does not love it so much because of the TV.

My Obsession With Photo Contests is Becoming a Problem

I was so excited about this week's I Heart Faces photo contest...wedding themed! I had a fabulous photographer for my wedding (you can see his work here).

We had over 900 pictures from our wedding, so I narrowed it down to 3 for this contest.

MckMama is looking for a new "Not Me!" Monday button, and asked her readers for designs. I thought I'd give it a try! I emailed this to her this morning.

We'll see, because she's probably got so many to choose from...but wouldn't that be cool??

Wedding Season

We've had a pretty laid back day.

After eating The Pioneer Woman's Cinnamon Rolls (ohmydearLordinHeaven they were GOOD)...


...we did a whole lot of...nothing. Noah played video games on his computer, and I (surprise, surprise) worked on pillows and curtains for my classroom.

We went to a really cute wedding tonight! It was one of Noah's good friends from college, marrying one of Noah's acquaintances from college. My husband, Mr. Popularity.


Mr. Maturity too.

I Heart Faces - Fix-It Friday

...and here's my edit. I cropped the picture, sharpened the whole thing and added a depth of field area around the face. This made for the blurry appearance. Finally, I added a border.

Show Us Where You Live Friday - Master Bedroom

My bedroom is just the greatest...it's one of the rooms I'm most proud of in my whole house.

That being said, I definitely don't think it's the most decorated or the fanciest.

It is, however, the most us. It is the room where we're the most comfortable. It's the room that has the most sentimental value to me.

Let me explain. ;)

Our "bedroom set" was a steal - all of it (besides the bedside table) was part of the hotel liquidation I talked about in my living room tour. I painted the headboard and TV cabinet to match our black end table (that we already owned).


Your average bedside table. The picture is one of our engagement shots. And the coasters? Those are actually from Noah's room in his fraternity house. We've been using those things since we've been dating, and I just can't part with them.

I've mentioned in several room tours that I collect Arthur Court elephant pieces, and they are dotted throughout our house. This is the first piece I ever got - it was my birthday present from Noah the year we got married.


Hardy (my dog) sleeps in here too. He's quite comfortable in here as well.

We bought this painting at a local benefit auction last year. When we saw it, we just thought it was perfect for our bedroom (because of the two windows). We got a really good deal on it, and all of the proceeds went to a good cause!

Updated: Several people have asked about where I had this done. I had an absolutely fabulous florist for my wedding that recommended this company do to my floral preservation. They are great - I highly recommend them!

Window Love

My house has resembled an animal print sweatshop this week.




I'm making animal print curtains for my classroom, as well as solid print (with animal print ribbon) curtains for the open cabinets (have no idea what I'm talking about? Here's my classroom.)


My husband shot this picture of me last night, looking extremely intense and with zero makeup (I am brave to put this on the internet!). It kind of describes me right now - I am in the classroom decorating zone.

And of course, Hardy is helping too. (Or sleeping/walking/chewing on my fabric, whatever you want to call it.)

I was up until 3:30 (yes, 3:30) this morning because I simply could not go to sleep. I had so much on my mind. I have SO much to do in the next 5 weeks...it kind of blows my mind sometimes. But I know it's going to come together (or at least that's what I'm telling myself so I don't go into panic mode).
