Answered Prayers

It has been a fabulous, wonderful, great day!

A lot of you were praying for my family over the past few days because of a prayer request I put up...here's the lowdown. My mom's doctor found a lump under her left arm Monday afternoon. The doctor told her up front that it might be a cyst (she's had cysts around that area before), but my grandmother (her mother) had breast cancer when she was 42...my mom is currently 47.

Needless to say, we were all terrified.

My mom went for a dye scan (I'm not sure if that's the name of it) yesterday, which determined it was a swollen lymph node. We are all so RELIEVED!!! There's been a lot of praying over the past couple of days, by my family and by you. I can never thank this little bloggy group enough for your kind words and prayers! If anything, I think this will be a wake-up call to my mom to take better care of herself. What a blessing in disguise!

Oh, and in the midst of all of that, yesterday was our second anniversary. :)

My wonderful husband came in the door last night with these...

...and took me to eat some of this...

It was a great night!

And in the midst of all of THAT, Noah has to have surgery in the next few weeks.  Nothing really major...it's kind of weird actually.  His belly button has been getting infected (gross, I know) for the past couple of years about every two months.  Our doctor finally told him this last time that something had to be done about it.  He met with the surgeon yesterday, and he thinks it is something called a poly-nodal cyst in his belly button.  It is the grossest, weirdest thing ever - it's actually a clump of hair that keeps growing inside his body and finally grows too much and gets infected.  The doctor would have to go in and cut that whole part of his body out.  His brother actually had one this time last year that he had to have cut out, so we really think that's it.  If it is, it's about a week's recovery time.

SO...all of that has led me to take a temporary hiatus from blog design.  I'm going to finish existing orders, but I have finally come to the conclusion that I just have too much on my plate right now.  I'm going to take about a 2 week break, and start back over Christmas break.  I NEED it, and I think I'll come back more energized!

Can you tell I'm a little spread thin right now? :)

Glad to hear that your mom is feeling better! I can totally understand the need for a hiatus...I don't think I could've managed anything else my first year teaching!

I was also praying and didn't leave a comment. We both were going through a tough time praying for our parents and our prayers were answered on the same day. :) Congrats! Isn't it scary that as we get older, things become more real?
