Yet Another Reason That I Love Publix

First off, thanks to everyone for the sweet, encouraging comments! You will never know how much I appreciate your kind words and (more importantly) your prayers right now. I know I'll get through it, it's just hard right now.

So I'm the kind of person that wants to fix every bad situation. My way to fix this situation? Well, since it's a financial issue, I'm going to save money! I'm cutting back everywhere I know to, and groceries are the first place. I've gotten REALLY into this site lately. It is AWESOME if you have a Publix nearby. For example, let me show you my groceries for this week:

I paid $17 (pretax) for ALL of this... including the reusable bags. It's like $54 worth of groceries. I KNOW!!
This is how it breaks down:
2 T.G.I. Friday's Meals - normally $7.99 each , on sale for $4.99, had $2 off coupon for each - $5.98 total.

3 Hamburger Helpers - normally $1.99 each, on sale for buy 1 get 1 free, $1.10 coupon off of three - $1.89 total. (And I could KICK myself - I had a coupon for $1 off ground beef for each box, and I forgot the ground beef.)

2 Pillsbury Biscuits - normally $1.39 each, $1 each right now, $0.50 off 2 coupon that doubles - $1 for both!

2 Green Giant Frozen Broccoli & Cheese - Normally $1.66, on sale for $1 each, coupon for $0.50 off that doubles - $1 for both.

1 Tollhouse cookies - normally #3.39, half off right now, coupon for $1 off...$0.70 total.

6 Progresso Soups - normally $2.29 each, $1.25 each right now, had 2 $1.10 off three coupons - $5.80 total.

2 Pillsbury Crescent Rolls - normally $1.45 each, $1/each right now, coupon for $0.50 off 2 (that doubles) and $1 off when you buy progresso soup - FREE crescent rolls!

Publix Bread - normally $1.17 - 1 cent (penny item for the week)

2 reusable shopping bags - normally 99 cents each - FREE coupon for buying 4 General Mills Products!

I was pretty excited about all of this! It's going to take baby steps, but I know I'll get there eventually. :)

Wow!! My husband and I just moved to Florida from Chicago, so I'd never been to a Publix before, and to be real honest, I'm not a huge fan. I think they're really expensive. I can't believe how cheap you got all that stuff!!! I will for SURE be checking out that website!

Great deals! Too bad I live an hour from the closest Publix (I'm in the Jasper area...). I have started using coupons lately though. Do you know of any good sites that have printable coupons because I had no luck searching for stuff like that? I normally don't get a newspaper, but I sometimes go through my in laws paper to get some coupons.

Awesome! I love it! Have you checked out couponmom.com?
Great coupons there, too....you can even find out which places (including Publix) let you "double-up" on coupons.

I have been using this website too!! Although I think you are doing better than I am! I need to take tips from you--I try not to get things we don't normally eat, but I always do. And, I DO heart publix!

very nice!! using iheartpublix and cutouthunger.com (couponmom.com), you will definitely see your savings. make sure that you maximize that savings by planning and preparing your meals from what's on sale and cooking from your stockpile, this will make a difference, too! keep up the good work!
