Publix This Week

I spent a little bit more this week than I like to.  There were just SO many good deals, I couldn't pass them up.  All in all, I paid 33.37 (pre-tax) for about $117 worth of groceries...that's a 72% savings!  You know me though, I like to stick to my $25 a week, so that bothered me a little bit - I might just try to stay under budget this next week.

Here's how it broke down:

8 Bird's Eye Steamfresh Lightly Sauced Veggie bags - normally $2.39 each, on sale for half off - had 3 $1 off 2 coupons and two 50 cents off of 1 coupons (which double) - $4.60 total for 8!

2 Bird's Eye Steamfresh mixed veggies - normally $1.80 each, on sale of half off - had two 35 cents off of 1 bag coupons (which double) - 40 cents for both!

2 Marie Calendar's Pasta Al Dente frozen meals - normally $3.49 each, on sale for $1.75 each, had 2 75 cents off of 1 coupons - $2 for both

4 Hillshire Farms Rope Turkey Sausage - normally $2.99 each, on sale for $1.99 each, had 2 coupons for $1 off 2 packs - $6 for 4 packs

2 Hillshire Farms Kielbasa Sausages - normally $2.99 each, on sale for $1.99 each, had 2 coupons for $1 off 1 pack - $2 for 2 packs

3 bags Lender's Bagels - normally $2.09 each, B1G1 free this week - $3.15 for all three

2 packs Old El Paso taco seasoning - normally 97 cents each, B1G1 free this week, had a coupon for 60 cents off 2 packs - 37 cents for both packs

1 Bumblebee Premium Tuna pouch - normally 99 cents, had a coupon for $1 off 1 pack - FREE (and that 99 cents is the normal price!)

3 Packs Fast Fixin' Popcorn Chicken - Normally $5.99 each, on sale for $2.99 each, had 3 $1 off 1 coupons - $6 for three packs!

(My favorite deal this week) Snuggle Fabric Softener - Normally $3.87 each, on sale for $3 each - had a $3 off 1 coupon - FREE fabric softener!

2 tubes Arm and Hammer Toothpaste - Normally $2.99 each, on sale for B1G1 free this week, had 2 $1 off 1 coupon - $1 total for 2 tubes

1 tube Maybelline mascara - Normally $5.69, on sale for 40% off ($3.41), had a $2 off 1 tube coupon - $1.41 total

Publix Candy Corn - Normally $1.67, penny item this week

2 containers Publix Deli salsa - normally $3.29 each, B1G1 free this week - $3.29 total

1 pack Uncle Ben's Whole Grain Brown Rice - normally $1.89, on sale for $1.34, had a $1 off 1 coupon - 34 cents total

4 Packs Ronzoni Healthy Harvest Pasta - Normally $1.79 each, on sale for B1G1 free, had 2 $1 off 2 coupons - $1.60 for 4 packs

2 Cans Progresso Bread Crumbs - Normally $1.93 each, on sale for B1G1 free, had a $1 off 2 coupon - 93 cents for both cans

2 bottles Coffee Mate - Normally $2.51 each, on sale for $1.50 each, had a $1.50 off 2 coupon - $1.50 for both bottles

Pretty good week!

I had a another question last week about how I do this...

-Do coupons automatically double or do you have to ask for it?

From what I've seen, they always automatically double if they are a) manufacturer coupons and b) worth 50 cents or less.  The computer at Publix automatically does it - the cashier doesn't even have to do anything.  Of course, this is just Publix, and I'm not even sure if every one does it - I just know that mine does.

Jeeze Louise!! I really need to get better about clipping coupons. The only problem is, our town doesn't have a Sunday newspaper, and I don't really think it's worth it to drive 45 mins to get one. So, I'm limited to just online coupons.

Great job!! I have been couponing this weekend, getting myself ready to shop.

Justine ~ online check out Coupons.com and Redplum.com; also look at the websites of the stores in your area, they often have coupons on there.
