Welcome to our living room!
This is one of two rooms that made me fall absolutely in love with my house!
Looking into the room from our kitchen (you can see my last week’s “Show Us Where You Live Friday” here).
Looking in from our front door. The elephant picture behind Noah’s leather chair kind of continues the elephant thing we’ve got going in the house…plus I got it at a STEAL for $15 from Kirkland’s!
Another view from the hallway leading to the bedrooms.
Our fireplace (or technically, the place where the gas logs are that has absolutely no capacity to ever hold a real fire). I got the vases and fireplace screen at Kirkland’s (my personal home decorating obsession) on clearance, and the flowers at a Michael’s 50% off sale!
A view of the fireplace/entertainment area. My husband is a little bit of a technology nut, so we have really nice TV’s and a huge sound system in the living room…that we rarely use 🙂
We call this “Hardy’s Chair” because he is the only one that ever sits here…really! See?
This chair came from a hotel liquidation here in Tuscaloosa. We got an entire room full of furniture (headboards, TV Hutch, pictures, clock, desk, and this chair) for $100! I covered it, and we used some of the other furniture throughout our house. What we didn’t use I sold in a garage sale for over $100, so we actually got all of that furniture for free! Can’t beat that!
I made all of the pillows on our couch. The bigger pillows have elephants (what else?) on them…I actually got that fabric on clearance from Hobby Lobby for like $1/yard! We used to live in a condo, and had pretty dupioni silk drapes above the couch, so the smaller pillows have that same fabric. I love the way it all turned out!
I mentioned last week that I collected Arthur Court Elephant pieces, and that some are dotted throughout the house. I use the tray on the coffee table to hold remotes, and one of my favorite wedding pictures is in my Arthur Court frame by the couch.
Entryway…I love how open our foyer/living room/kitchen are!
I think my favorite part of my living room/foyer is the ceilings! We have double tray ceilings in the living room part, and these really cool curved ceilings in the foyer area. I have never seen anything like it in another house! If you can’t tell yet, I like unique houses 🙂
Thanks for stopping by…now I can’t wait to see your’s! Go to Kelly’s Korner to join in!
PS – Thanks for all of your prayers today…everything went great! I will be announcing my big news tomorrow, for all that are interested! (My facebook friends probably already know though) 🙂
