Not Me! Monday - 1st Edition

Ok, I've always wanted to do this, and I thought I would give this a try this week.  MckMama is the person that got me into this whole blogging thing originally...I started following her blog right before Stellan was born, and I've been addicted ever since.  This is her first "Not Me!" Monday since Stellan's extended stay in the hospital, so here goes!

Since last week was my last week of student teaching, I certainly did not get up at 6:50 every day when I had to leave the house at 7:20.  I am most definitely a ridiculously peppy morning person, so I would not sacrifice straightening my hair (and opting for a ponytail, instead) most days of last week so I would be on time.  Not me!

And in the spirit of last week being the end of my student teaching, I did not get totally lazy at home and not cook at all.  There were no dirty dishes piled up in the kitchen, and we did not go out to eat every night, and certainly did not eat fast food for the majority of those nights.  I am the perfect wife, and had a homemade dinner waiting, on the table, for my husband every night.  And, as a sidenote, I did not clean my kitchen like two minutes before making my post to go on the Kelly's Korner kitchen tour :)

When I am running late and need to get Hardy in his crate, I do NOT use ham as a bribery tool.  I simply call my beautiful puppy, and he looks at me, smiles, and says "sure Momma, I'll gladly get in my crate!  Is there anything else I can do for you?"  Obviously, not only do I have a polite dog, but one that is obedient and talks too!  I do not have to toss slices of ham onto the floor, in a trail, until he eventually gets into the crate.  (And if you doubt his addiction to ham, see video from a couple of weeks ago.)

Speaking of my favorite furry guy, there's no way he used the bathroom all over the doorway of one of our bathrooms this morning.  I did not hear the terrifying sound of liquid pouring onto carpet, and did not walk to the back of the house to find him, one leg up, doing his thang on the door frame.  I did not have to clean up the result of a poorly potty trained 18 month old beagle.  Not me!

I am obviously not graduating from college in less than a week!  And I'm not still waiting (yes, that's right, I said still waiting) on some great, life-changing news, and I absolutely will not tell you as soon as I know something for sure :)

Good gracious, that was therapeutic!  You should do it too!  Go to Mckmama's blog at http://www.mycharmingkids.net and try it!

Well, at least you have ham! My lovely little dog loves to go into his "house," as we call it but growls at us on the way in. Crazy dog. Congrats on your first Not Me!
