Again, thank you all so much for the prayers yesterday...they really did help! So here's what's been going on that I haven't been able to tell anybody.
I told you I had a job interview for a really incredible teaching position last Tuesday. I told you it went great, and I just loved the principal and everything she told me about the school, but I didn't tell you everything. Well, last Thursday, I got a call from the principal saying that she had recommended me for the position! The reason I needed some prayer yesterday was because I had to meet with the director of personnel for the school board and my name was going before the board for approval last night. I felt that everything would be ok, but you never know, so I was a little worried!
I got another call from the principal about 7:30 last night tell me that I had been approved by the board. So, I am officially a first grade teacher! I am so excited...I could not have picked a better grade or a better school. I am going to have so many opportunities at this school that you just don't get at a normal school. This is a new school here in Tuscaloosa that lets students in through an application process (if you're in Tuscaloosa, you probably know which one I'm talking about). I just can't wait to get in there and get started!
One more thing: If you haven't been under a rock for the past six months, you know that teaching jobs are hard to come by right now. There are a lot of people I'm graduating with that might not have a job in teaching next year. I am so completely blessed to have this job, but my heart still goes out to them. If you think to, say a prayer that God will provide for them and comfort them over the next few months, because for some of them, it's not going to be an easy time.

After all of the excitement last night, Hardy and I have been running errands most of the day. I had to take some of our tax info to the bank, and I also ran to a local grocery store in Tuscaloosa that's going out of business and had some FANTASTIC deals...I'm talking 1/2 off hair products, 40% off spices...so I stocked up! It's FoodMax in Northport, for all those locals.
I had to leave Hardy in the car, so I tried to hurry through to get back to him (since it's May in Alabama, so it's already ridiculously HOT). I found this on the floorboard when I got back:
At first, it worried me...I thought Hardy's mouth was bleeding. But then I thought about it, and realized he got a Snausage at the bank drive-thru.
Snausage drool. All over our very important tax information. Nice.
So now, Hardy's doing a whole lot of this...
...and this...
(these pictures really were taken in the past 15 minutes...he's just that lazy)
...and I'm getting our house clean today, because I have in-laws coming in town tomorrow. Because, you know, I'm graduating from college tomorrow :)
And I have an awesome job :)
And I'm leaving for a week in the Caribbean 8 days from today :)
Can you tell I'm happy right now? God is so good!
